    Brochure
Recently, remodeled and updated (click here for a virtual tour of our rehab center), this dedicated Inpatient Rehabilitation Center is located on the 5th Floor of our Johnston Willis Campus. This is not in-room Acute Inpatient Rehab that is listed as "Rehab for your General Hospital Stay."  For Inpatient Rehab Center, a rehab physician and admissions coordinator meet with the patient and family prior to admission to discuss the eligibility for a rehab stay. Prior to discharge, the program manager carefully plans each patient’s release coordinating referrals for continued therapy, support, and educational services. We contact discharged patients at six months and one year to assess their progress.

The timing of admission depends on bed availability and the patient’s medical readiness to begin an intensive level of therapy. Patients generally receive three or more hours of treatment each weekday with rest breaks scheduled as needed. Many patients spend the majority of their time in the gym, working together with the rehab team. But we also provide one-on-one with a licensed therapist.

Physical Rehabilitation - Building Strength and Endurance

Physical Rehabilitation includes Physical Therapy for gait training, general reconditioning and endurance training, balance training/fall prevention, trunk and lower extremity strengthening and gross motor control/coordination.

Speech Therapy - Maximizing Patients Speaking & Swallowing

Speech Therapy is offered for communication and swallowing disorders and can include: swallowing evaluation and/or modified barium swallow; VitalStim and dysphasia treatment; aphasia therapy; cognitive retraining; dysarthria treatment; voice treatment; and augmentative communication. Recreational Therapy - Getting Back to the Fun Stuff

    Occupational Therapy helps
    people return to the ordinary
    tasks of daily life.
Recreational Therapy is a type of therapy for combining leisure interests with functional activities to prepare patients for the return to home and their community. This includes activities such as golf or tennis.

Occupational Therapy - A Return to Daily Living Tasks

Occupational Therapy is therapy designed to help people return to ordinary tasks around the house and at work by maximizing physical potential through lifestyle adaptations and possible use of assistive devices. We provide Occupational Therapy for (ADL) training, which means, Aids to Daily Living. We also work on home management skills, upper extremity strengthening, gross and fine motor control/coordination, cognitive re-training, visual-perceptual training, sensory re-integration and energy conservation.
